Welcome to Rainbow Veterinary Hospital
We’re glad you chose Rainbow Veterinary Hospital for your pet’s care. Whether this is your first veterinary visit or you’re transferring care from another hospital, our goal is to make your experience clear, efficient, and supportive– from check-in through checkout.
Before Your Appointment
To help your visit run smoothly:
- Complete any required forms provided at the time of booking or sent in advance
- Bring prior medical records if your pet has been seen elsewhere (vaccination history, lab work, imaging, prescriptions)
- Arrive a few minutes early to allow time for check-in and questions
If your pet is anxious around other animals, please let our team know when scheduling so we can accommodate where possible.
Checking In
When you arrive:
- Our front desk team will confirm your contact information and your pet’s details
- We’ll review the reason for your visit and answer any immediate questions
- Dogs should be on a leash; cats and small pets should arrive in secure carriers
The Examination
A veterinarian will perform a comprehensive physical exam, which typically includes:
- Weight and vital signs
- Examination of eyes, ears, mouth, skin, heart, lungs, and abdomen
- Discussion of your pet’s medical history, lifestyle, and current concerns
Based on the exam, your veterinarian may recommend diagnostics, treatments, or preventive care. Recommendations are tailored to your pet’s needs and discussed with you before proceeding.
Diagnostics & Treatment Recommendations
If diagnostics or treatments are recommended:
- Our team will explain what is being recommended and why
- An estimate may be provided before proceeding, especially for more involved services
- You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and decide how to move forward
No services are performed without client authorization.
Payment & Checkout
Payment is due at the time services are rendered.
We accept multiple payment types and offer third-party financing options. For full details, please visit our Payment Options page.
If you plan to use pet insurance, we can provide medical records and invoices needed for claim submission. Coverage decisions are made by the insurance company, not the hospital.
After Your Visit
After your appointment:
- You’ll receive discharge instructions if treatments or medications were provided
- Our team will explain next steps, follow-ups, or recheck appointments if needed
- Prescriptions, lab results, or referrals will be reviewed with you as applicable
If questions come up after you leave, we encourage you to contact us.
Communication & Follow-Up
We aim to communicate clearly and promptly regarding:
- Test results
- Treatment updates
- Follow-up care recommendations
Please ensure we have your preferred contact information on file so we can reach you efficiently.
